Summer Rockies Tour was a blast!

We took our tour van around to some amazing places on this past tour through the Rockies.  We hiked and camped in the mountains in Nevada, hung out with wonderful folks at Palisade Bluegrass and Roots festival in western Colorado, and explored Arches National Park in Moab, Utah — we took in a myriad of gorgeous vistas among the diverse and fun shows that we played.

Palisade Bluegrass and Roots Festival treated us especially well–we got to see some amazing music from the likes of The Wood Brothers, The Infamous Stringdusters, The Sweetback Sisters, The Howlin’ Brothers, Hackensaw Boys, Willie Watson and more!

Check out some fun pics from our adventures!

We ended our tour in LA and had the great honor of singing at a memorial for Harold Ramis, the amazing actor, writer and director (Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, Animal House, Caddyshack) who passed away early this year.  Our mom was a close childhood friend of his wife, Erica, and she invited us to sing “Dream a Little Dream of Me” at the memorial service held at the Montalban Theater in Hollywood. This was a very poignant way to end our tour and we were very grateful for the experience. We got to know Harold through stories from his friends, colleagues and family members and various wonderful and hilarious video clips from his prolific work as an actor, writer and director over the last half of a century.

Overall, our Rockies tour was a lovely and rockin’ time and we look forward to our return!

  1. WOW!! My youngest sister, Laura Tietjen (currently living in Manhattan) sent me the link to your site. I listened to your beautiful harmony and they renewed memories of my childhood. The family singing happily around our piano in Kanab, UT. and Bountiful UT. many years ago.

I now reside in Grand Junction, COLO… just a hop, skip & a jump from Palisade, COLO. We’ve got to be related somehow, somewhere… Tietjen isn’t that usual of a name!

Keep on singing!! It’s just beautiful!

    1. Thanks Estelle! Yeehaw for Tietjen family music 🙂 Hope to see you next time we come through Colorado!
